Shah Jahan entered Rajputana and raided Amber crossing the Tapti. He arrived near the kingdom of Golconda and from there passed on to Orissa which was surrendered to him.

5/18/1974First underground Atomic device explosion for India was carried out successfully near Pokhran in Rajasthan (Thar Desert) at 8:05 a.m. This event made India as the 6th nation to explode an atomic bomb.
1/23/1978The motto ""Shastra se Shakti"" (Strength though arms) in Hindi written in Devengiri script was approved by the President of India as the motto of the Army Ordnance Corps.The original corps motto of the Ordnance corps was ""Usa Tela Tananti"" found in the arms of the board of Ordnance. This was translated to mean ""To the thunder his arms"". The corps song titled ""Ayudh Corps Mahan"" was introduced for the first time in 4th re-union of the Army Ordnance Corps. The song is to be played or sung ""within unit lines only"", during purely Regimental functions.

11/29/1996The Indian Journal of Medical Research brought out special issues, as part of the 85th year celebrations of ICMR, on Nutrition Research (November 1995) and Diarrhoeal Diseases (July, 1996). The ICMR Bulletin also brought out special issues on such topics as Nutrition, Tuberculosis, AIDS, Tribal Health, etc. so as to coincide with the theme selected for a particular month as part of the celebrations. As part of the global theme initiative coordinated by JAMA, USA, the January 1996 issue of the ICMR was devoted to 'Emerging and Re-emerging Infections'.
