1/22/1666Shahjahan (Sjihab Al-Din Sultan C Shah D Jahan), great Mughal emperor, died at the Agra fort as a prisoner, to rest besides Mumtaz in Taj Mahal. Jahanara arranged that Sahjahan be laid.
5/18/1945Bhagwat Subramaniam Chandrasekhar, cricketer (brilliant Indian leggie 1964-79), was born in Banglore. He received Arjun Award and Padmashree awards in 1972.
5/18/1945Mughal conqueror Babur Shah (1483-1530) defeats Ibrahim Lodi II, the Lodi Sultan of Delhi, and captures Delhi and the Koh-i-noor diamond, in the First Battle of Panipat. He founded the Mughal dynasty in India (1526-1761), consolidated by his grandson Akbar.
